OECD sees Russia’s GDP falling 8–10% in 2020 over coronavirus

MOSCOW, Jun 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) will fall around 8% in 2020 under the present conditions, or up to 10% if a new wave of coronavirus takes place, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said in a report on Wednesday.

Considering an unusual extent of uncertainty, this economic forecast suggests two equally possible scenarios for each state and economy, including and excluding a second wave of coronavirus, the organization said.

In 2021, Russia’s economy will rise 6% if there is no second wave of the disease, and 4.9% if there is such a wave.
